What to do after violation report

What should I do after receiving a violation report?

Most property violations are a result of a Violation Report Form completed by a neighbor.

When receiving a notice that your property may have a violation, it's easy to feel alarmed or immediately defensive.  In most situations when violations are reported by your neighbors, they are just unsure how to bring up the topic without sounding offensive.

There are two types of notices...be sure to identify which one you have received:
  • Informational - a notice that a violation may exist
  • Violation - a notice that a violation does exist and action needs to be take before fines are incurred
The best course of action to to clearly understand the violation and respond to the Architectural Review Committee (ARC) within 15 days of the letter with your plan to correct or dispute the situation.
